Yorkshire-based TractAir has developed a new reaction time test trolley for testing trailer air brakes. Dealing with a currently topical issue, the trolley equipment allows tractor dealers/distributors and trailed implement makers to identify whether trailer brakes are performing adequately enough not to place an undue load on the towing tractor's brakes which, in turn, can lead to excessive tractor brake wear – and, ultimately, a potential accident. With this in mind, Tractair says the test trolley is also of direct benefit to farmers, because it enables them to identify at an early stage whether their air-braked equipment is performing to an acceptable standard.
