Faster, lighter and more manoeuvrable is the claim for the latest combination baler/wrapper from the Dutch/Austrian duo of Lely and Göweil. Matched here with a Lely RP 235 baler, the new Göweil Shortline 5040 Kombi wrapper chassis is designed specifically for use with fixed-chamber balers. As a result, the chassis is shorter and more manoeuvrable. Other changes include the use of load-sensing hydraulics – table extension and door closing can now happen at the same time – and the wrapper arm's speed has been increased. Price of the wrapper chassis element is about £28,000, with the baler likely to add a similar amount.
