New Holland gets a buzz with bees

New Holland has joined forces with the British Bee Keepers Association to raise funds for research into why the bee population is in decline. During the 2007/2008 winter over a third of British bee colonies was wiped out and if this trend continues there could be issues with pollination. As well as providing funding New Holland will use its dealer network and customer base to support the BBKA, which will also have a presence on its show stands including LAMMA. It is estimated that bee pollination contributes at least £200m to the agricultural economy each year. Bees are not only vital for horticulture, they are also necessary for the successful harvest of oil seed rape, borage and other crops and it is facts like this, which the BBKA and New Holland want to promote.
