Mid-life tweaks for Mannheim Deeres Nov 20, 2009 #710
Mid-life tweaks for Mannheim Deeres
John Deere is promising improved performance and fuel economy for its 6030 and 7030 Mannheim produced tractors. Models produced after February 2010 will receive a number of upgrades including extra power and ties in with the introduction of the 6534.

For the Premium line-up the 6230 and 6330 get an additional 5hp when Intelligent Power Management is engaged while the 6430 benefits from 5hp extra at rated speed as well as for operations when the power boost is working. For the six-cylinder 6630 and 6830 the extra horsepower is at rated speed and the 6930 remains unchanged.

On standard 6030s, the 6130 goes from 83hp up to 85hp at rated speed and the 6430 to 6830 get 5hp more at rated so they now span 120hp to145hp.

Product specialist, Gordon Day points out that this is much more than just a software upgrade with the engines now being more fuel efficient at part load. On the four-cylinder 6430 and 6534 the 4.5 litre engine gets new pistons and turbo. A new manifold is the key change on the 6.8 litre 6630 to 7430 while the 7530 has new heavy-duty pistons and manual wheel turbo-charger. These tweaks will see fuel economy improvements of up to 4% on standard and 3% on Premium series tractors says Deere.

The 6530 is also getting replaced by a new model 6534 that sees six-cylinder engine being exchanged for a four-pot lump but sticking with the same 2.6m wheelbase. The new model is rated at 127hp with the Premium version having high pressure common rail injection, variable geometry turbo and also benefits from IPM so it can pump out 145hp when required.

A 24/24 PowrQuad Plus 40km/hr transmission is standard, while AutoQuad Plus or AutoPowr 40 or 50km/hr transmissions are also available. Prices for the 6534 will start at £55,412 for the Standard and £69,057 for the Premium models.
