Lay-offs at John Deere combine plant in the US |
Deere & Company has announced that 367 manufacturing employees of the John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois, will be placed on indefinite lay-off later this month due to reduced market demand for the factory's products. Most of the remaining manufacturing employees at Harvester Works will also start four weeks of inventory adjustment shutdown and two weeks of vacation shutdown on September 21st.
