Kverneland Group takes on Veenhuis wagons

Dutch manufacturer Veenhuis has sold its self-loading and transport silage wagon products to the Kverneland Group. This surprise move will allow Veenhuis to focus on its slurry equipment range which represents nearly 85% of the manufacturers turnover and for the Kverneland Group to quickly extend its wagon line up under both the Vicon and Kverneland brands. "This is a very important move for Kverneland Group in our ambition to clearly strengthen our position within the loader and transport wagon segments. Veenhuis belongs to the pioneers in developing multi-purpose rotor wagons, with products positioned at the high end of the segment," explains Claus Udengaard Thomsen, managing director for Kverneland Groups Forage Equipment business. "The new products offer an immediate extension of our broad product offering, as well as providing a perfect platform for further development." Walter Veenhuis, managing director of Veenhuis adds, "Over the last years, we have been confronted with increasingly high demands on manure handling equipment, due to further development of environmental legislation. We have positioned our company in a market leading position in the field of low-emission slurry application (injection) and we expect manure handling technologies to develop further in the future. ¨ The range of forage and grassland products includes combination forage and transport wagons (35 and 40m³), large capacity transport wagons (40, 45, 50 and 55m³) and silage spreaders. The latter is designed to level the grass on the clamp once it has been discharged from a wagon. Another product included in the deal is the Veenhuis Shuttle – a 30m³ specialist trailer that is used transfer forage maize from the harvester to waiting trailers helping reduce in field compaction. The Dutch firm will continue to manufacture the current grassland products for the next two years for the Kverneland Group and will also provide service and spares to existing customers. The new products will be unveiled to the public for the first time in Kverneland and Vicon livery at Agritechnica.
