Groundhog gets some power reins

JCB is now offering Electric Power-Assist Steering on its Groundhog utility vehicle. EPAS alters its responsiveness to forward speed with the steering having the full benefit of the system when the UTV is stationery or moving slowly.
The manufacturer says steering effort is reduced by 75% allowing operators to navigate tight turns. When reaching its top speed of 50km/hr the electric assist is reduced helping maintain positive feel.
The EPAS unit is tucked under the dashboard by the steering column while the rack and pinion arrangement is unaltered.
