All new-production Fendt SCR tractors will now automatically reduce their output when their AdBlue tanks run dry. This hasn’t previously been the case in all markets, including the brand’s home market in Germany.

AGCO-Fendt recently issued the following statement:

“As released in mid-April, AGCO has expanded its existing and comprehensive control and instructions for all 800 and 900 Fendt Vario models in the event that the filling level in the AdBlue tank drops to zero. When this happens, the tractor now automatically reduces its output.

Peter-Josef Paffen (pictured), spokesman for AGCO-Fendt management, says: ‘Initial experience in the marketplace caused us to take the decision of expanding the existing control system to ensure Vario tractors using AdBlue technology continued operating at 100%. We adopted fuel-efficient SCR technology for our tractors and self-propelled harvesters at a very early stage, which was the only viable decision from today’s point of view, because SCR technology is able to meet two aims in a very efficient way – environmental protection and fuel economy.’

Expanded control will be applied to all future SCR models from Fendt. In addition a software update will be installed on all 800 and 900 SCR models that have been delivered up to now.”

AGCO UK says the update programme does not apply to the UK and Ireland, because all Fendt 800 and 900 SCR tractors supplied to these two markets have always de-rated when their AdBlue tanks run dry.
