Farmer-spec wagon debuts at Grassland UK |
Krone is due to launch a four-model range of forage wagons at Grassland UK on May 7th at Shepton Mallet. Badged the AX250 and replacing the Titan 4/32 and 6/30, the new machines have a capacity of 25m³ of forage to DIN standard and are said to be capable of being towed by a tractor as small as 80hp. As such they will be mainly targeted at farmer users rather than contractors. The four variants are the L (conventional chain/slat unloading, folding upper body section), GL (conventional chain/slat unloading, fixed upper body section), D (roller discharge, folding upper body section) and GD (roller discharge, fixed upper body section), although it is the GL that is expected to be the biggest UK seller by some margin. Crop chop comes courtesy of a 760mm diameter rotor that feeds the grass through a bank of 32 knives at 45cm spacing. The knives swing out for maintenance.
