Entry-level combines get a new name

The 1470 and 1570 replace the 1450 and 1550 as John Deere's two entry-level combines for the 2010 season. Along with fresh styling, the firm says that the two new machines benefit from a number of spec upgrades. These include a redesigned feeder house, faster response hydraulic system and more effective machine lighting. Specifically affecting the operator environment, Deere adds that it has also tweaked steering, electrical, shoe drive and straw chopper drive systems to bring increased functionality. Power outputs for the five-walker 1470 and six-walker 1570 are 204hp and 262hp, respectively.
