Deere still king of tractor sales hill in 2010 |
The Agricultural Engineers Association has released the market share figures for 2010 which saw a total of 14,486 units being registered. John Deere shifted 4,427 tractors during 2010 giving it a 30.6% share of the market.
There is no change in second and third space with New Holland (18%/2,612 units) and Massey Ferguson (12.8%/1,851 units and includes Challenger as well). Case IH is in fourth with an 8.0% slice of the pie or 1,160 units. The last slot in the top five goes to Claas with 6.2%/904 units.
Kubota posted a result of 4.5%/655 tractors. Fendt shifted more units in 2010 than 2009 with 593 tractors versus 477 and a 4.1% market share. Fellow AGCO brand Valtra was in eighth place with 3.8%/553 units which is 20 more tractors than 2009.
The combined efforts of SDF resulted in 498 tractors arriving on UK farms and a 3.4% share. This is down on the 796 tractors registered in the UK for 2009. Last slot in the top ten goes to McCormick with 2.2%/324 units while Landini sold 1.1%/155 tractors.
JCB held its 1.3% market share but Fastrac numbers were down to 191.
