The arrival of the new standard 200 tractor is another significant development for Fendt – and rather more significant than its modest hp rating might suggest. Comprising five models from 71-101hp, all 200s now drive through a Vario CVT transmission with TMS, allowing Fendt to boast 100% CVT drive across its complete product offering – from 71hp to 355hp (EC 97/68 rated). Farmers can no longer buy a non-CVT Fendt. Also different on the 200 is its choice of power unit. All other Fendts use Deutz engines, whereas the 200 is the first product to source its motor from AGCO's own in-house supplier, Sisu Power. Engine spec is three cylinders, 3.3 litres, with common-rail injection and exhaust gas recirculation. "The new 200 is a lively little tractor and makes an ideal match for a four-furrow reversible," says Fendt's Richard Shelton. "With its lower price, we're fully expecting some customers may be tempted into a 200 rather than the larger 300." Other 200 spec includes electrohydraulic linkage control, a 48-litre/min hydraulic pump (76-litre/min option) and a 4.2t rear lift. Top speed is 40km/hr. There's also a new cab, which has a flat floor but still manages to give a low overall machine height of 2,530mm. Mechanical cab suspension is optional, as is a Cargo 3X 65 front loader. The first 200 models are likely to appear in the UK towards the end of 2009.
