Axial Flow takes a bigger bite

Case IH is making a number of upgrades to its 88 and 20 series Axial Flow combines for the 2010 season. All of the 20 series combines get increased grain tank capacity with the 7120 going from 10,500 litres to 11,100 litres while both the 8120 and 9120 go up to 12,300 litres. Case IH says the move to bigger tanks will reduce the number of unloading cycles and field trailer traffic. The grain tank extension is hydraulically opened and closed to reduce the transport height. To deal with the increased grain tank capacity there are some new tyre options including 710/70R42 fronts and 800/65R32 rears resulting in a transport width of under 3.5m. There is now the option of the 10.7m 3050 Varicut header for the flagship combines. The cutting knife can move fore and aft 57cm without having to add any filler plates and Case IH add that this new header design is capable of going to wider widths. For the 88 and 20 series machines there a new on-board air cleaning option. This is based around a 198 litre/min compressor and self-recoiling 6m hose.
