Agritechnica: Väderstad concept cultivator
Nov 13, 2009 #701
Väderstad is extending its stubble cultivator line up with the Swift that goes on sale for in 2011 following further field tests next season. Each of the two rows of tines are mounted on a single beam, which the manufacturer says makes it possible to use a shorter frame but with plenty of room for trash to flow through.
Tine spacing is 19.3cm on this four row cultivator, which uses the 50mm and 80mm points from the Cultus and has a maximum working depth of 150mm. Levelling discs with rubber block arm protection can then be used to finish the job off or a roller can be attached to the rear drawbar.
The Swift range of cultivators is to span 3m to 12m with the 5.6m SW560 wanting 160hp or more up front. Mark Littleford of Väderstad adds that we are unlikely to see the new cultivator in the UK.
