Agritechnica: Mighty Russian goes stepless |
Russian tractor manufacturer Kirovets will be stunning Agritechnica visitors with its CVT-equipped 428hp artic tractor, the 9430. This prototype will be part of the 9000 range and uses a number of Western Europe components.
The six-cylinder engine comes from Daimler, with the smallest tractor in the range, the 9350, believed to be 350hp; the largest model could peak past 500hp. As for the CVT, this hails from Swiss firm Mali, which is owned by Marcus Liebherr. Mali produces three CVTs for tractors from 120kW/163hp, 250kW/339hp (which is used in the Kirovets) and 500kW/678hp.
