AGCO's top techs Feb 2, 2010 #844
AGCO's top techs
Multi brand manufacturer AGCO has been honouring the cream of the crop product support engineers for its Challenger, Massey Ferguson and Valtra products in the UK and Ireland. The three brand champions for 2009 are - Challenger, John Harvey, Chandlers, Lincolnshire; Massey Ferguson, Mark Noon, RVW Pugh, Cheshire; and Valtra, David Henderson of David Henderson Tractors, Northumberland. A special Brand Ambassador award for Fendt was given to Dave Baverstock.

All three win £400 worth of tool vouchers from Draper as well as a trophy. John Harvey commented: “It’s a real privilege to have won. I’m sure there are others equally deserving, but it’s nice to know that you must be doing something right. As a firm, we make the most of the training offered by the AGCO Academy, which is highly focused and well-aimed.”

Mark Noon, who was a finalist in 2008, added: “When you’re being assessed over the best part of a year, it’s nice to make the finals and fantastic to win the award. Technologies are changing so quickly that you need to keep up to date via the training courses, which are very appropriate.”

This view was endorsed by David Henderson. “AGCO’s Valtra training has been first-class, and whenever any new technology comes along – like the new gearbox, for example – I’m the first to sign up for the courses. The Valtra trainer, Oliver Wright, is very good, very switched-on.”

Runners-up in the Challenger section were Dominic Christmas, of Wilfred Scruton, North Yorkshire, and Mark North, Peacock & Binnington, North Lincolnshire.

In the Massey Ferguson competition, the runners-up were Paul Fraser, of Linklater Engineering, Orkney, and Conor Crowley, of Kehoe Bros, Ireland

Valtra runners-up were John Hurdley of Edwards and Farmer, Shrewsbury, and Seamus Loughlin, of Clarke Farm Machinery, Ireland.
